Game play animation week2
this week’s mission is to blocking normal attack animation. I import oy reference and start the blocking.
while I animated the half of the hole video, I noticed that because I move the controller of the pelvis on z-axis, the shoulder’s rig and weight completely wrong, these two controllers away from the character, I guess is because this rig is design for the gameplay animation so the rigging artist didn’t parent or constraint the upper body’s controller and pelvis controller.
like this image, we will see the pelvis rotation will not affect the upper body’s rotation. unlike the rigs, I used before.
also, I watched a video teaching people how to rigging, this video helps me to notice my mistake. I only watched part one it explains rigging basic, rigging is based on parent and constraint, the relationship of the different controller.
my mistake is starting from the third pose because in this pose the pelvis has a forward movement. so I delete the keyframe before the second pose, and start again.
first pose
the reference I shooting is not exaggerated, I was thinking the character’s characteristic is bold, so his action will be more powerful. I let the character’s center of gravity more obvious on his front leg and his back will bend more down, showing that he is ready to fight.
second pose
the second pose is the preparation of the first attack, so the pelvis will turn subtle back to get more power to do the first attack.
third pose
the third pose is the first shield attack. the whole body is turning to the front and the left shoulder will higher than the right-hand side.
fourth pose
preparation of the sword attack, the body will turn to the right hand and the upper arm will in the same horizon of the lower arm.
fifth pose
this is the sword attack pose
while I was recording my ref video, I noticed that my wrist will have a rotation on the z-axis.
I take a photo of my hand and adjust my rig it looks slightly better.
sixth pose
the sixth pose is using the shield to attack again.
seventh pose
is the sword attack, in the last pose, the link rinses his right hand to do preparation for the sword attack.
eighth pose
this pose is a sword attack, it is continuous of the last pose.
ninth pose
Link waves the sword to the opposite side and rinses his back.
tenth pose
the motion trial from lasd pose to this pose create a smi arc motion trail. to let link looks more stable, I move the right leg a little bit out.
eleventh pose
this pose is to wave sword and then rise his back
in this direction we will see the chest is almost turn to the right side, but the face is still facing front because link need to foucus on his target.
twelve pose
in this pose link turning back and prepare for the big turning, so his chest is slightly turning to the left hand side
thirteen pose
this is the part of turning of link, the main point of this pose is that link’s hand turning speed faster than his chest and plevis
fourthteen pose
this pose is still in the process of turning back,I didn’t move link’s right arm, because I want it look more power ful at next pose.
fifthteen pose
this is the last part of the normal attack. the chest is really low nearly close to his leg and the pelvis’s position is lower than other pose too.
